Power systems expertise where it matters most — in real-time operations
Nexus Advisory helps utilities, system operators, technology providers and major energy projects strengthen power-system operations, control-room capability, EMS/SCADA implementation, operational readiness and technical workforce capability.
Complex power systems require operational experience
Modern power systems are becoming increasingly complex. Renewable generation, distributed energy resources, battery storage, changing network configurations, new control-centre technologies and increasingly demanding operating conditions place greater pressure on the people and systems responsible for real-time operation.
Nexus Advisory brings real-world operational experience into engineering and technology environments — helping bridge the gap between:
Technology alone does not guarantee safe and effective operation. Operators need the right:
- Systems
- Displays
- Alarms
- Procedures
- Training
- Competencies
- Decision-making frameworks
- Operational processes

Advisory
Bashar brings more than two decades of experience across electricity system operations, engineering, control-centre technology and technical training — including approximately 15 years within AEMO's National Electricity Market control-room environment, progressing through operational roles to Power System Operations Specialist Level 2, with responsibility for power-system security and real-time operation of Australia's interconnected electricity system.
His operational experience includes exposure to significant system events and challenging operating conditions:
He has extensive experience working with GE Energy Management Systems, including EMS/SCADA environments, system testing, alarms, operator requirements and control-centre systems. Following his operational career, Bashar held senior technical and training responsibilities with GE — approximately 6 years and 8 months with the organisation, including leadership of a technical training function involving approximately 12 trainers.
This combination allows Nexus Advisory to understand the interaction between engineering, technology, operators, training and operational risk.
